The Pelican Picture Quilt

This is from a picture I took when we went fishing in 2011. The pelicans were waiting patiently for the Capitan to clean the fish so they could have a free lunch.

These are just a couple of tablerunners. The snowman is a cute pattern. The pink one was using a different pattern piece, and also the first time I tried McTavishing quilting.

Spikes

I entered the Brown Bag Challenge in Florida guild. In this challenge everyone puts 4 or more coordinating fat quarters in a brown bag with their name on the outside of the bag.

The person in charge of this, puts the fat quarters in different bags, and hands them out to someone other than the owner of the fabric. You have a year to make something with this fabric. At the big event, you present what you made to the owner of the fabric. You do not know whose fabric you have until then.

This is what I made, and it was for Susan Slaton, the President of guild at the time.

Dumpster diving

You never know what you'll find driving around the neighborhood. The first chest was white with lots of little stickers on it. Two of the drawers needed fixing, DH did that. The handles are brass. I just love it.
The second chest was sitting all kity wampus just because the backing was broken. The drawers looked like new. All my DH had to do was put a new backing on this one.

DH stands for dear husband.
